MOVING DAY for Guadalupe Ranger District Office in Carlsbad

LNFCARLSBAD, NM – June 21, 2013 – The Lincoln National Forest is happy to announce the relocation of the Guadalupe Ranger District Office in Carlsbad, NM.  District personnel have been busily working to accomplish the move within a minimal timeframe. The physical move will occur over the next few days, however, during the transition, District Office services may be limited. The new office, which was formerly the Border Patrol Office is located at 5203 Buena Vista Drive in Carlsbad, near the Permian Basin Training Center.  The mailing address is:  Guadalupe Ranger District, 5203 Buena Vista Drive, Carlsbad, NM  88220.

Jim Gumm, Guadalupe District Ranger provided an update, “the computer system was taken down yesterday and we are targeting Wednesday of next week for it to be fully functional in the new office.  Currently, phone calls that come in on the 575-885-4181 number are being forwarded to a cell phone which limits our ability to answer every call.  The temporary back-up cell number is 575-315-5776. Some of the other services that are ‘on hold’ for a few days are map sales and issuance of timber or mineral permits.”

Once settled in, the District employees look forward to hosting an open house, possibly in August or September. A public announcement will be made to provide details about the event.
