After several months of arm-twisting, my wife finally agreed to trade in our SUV. We had some road trips planned for the summer, and even though it had been a great vehicle, our SUV had over 218 thousand miles on it. I spotted a used Cadillac online. So with her still whining a little, we drove over to the dealership to check it out. The test drive went great, and as soon as she discovered the seats were air-conditioned (air-cooled booty), she was sold! MOVING DAY for Guadalupe Ranger District Office in Carlsbad

LNFCARLSBAD, NM – June 21, 2013 – The Lincoln National Forest is happy to announce the relocation of the Guadalupe Ranger District Office in Carlsbad, NM.  District personnel have been busily working to accomplish the move within a minimal timeframe. The physical move will occur over the next few days, however, during the transition, District Office services may be limited. The new office, which was formerly the Border Patrol Office is located at 5203 Buena Vista Drive in Carlsbad, near the Permian Basin Training Center.  The mailing address is:  Guadalupe Ranger District, 5203 Buena Vista Drive, Carlsbad, NM  88220. FREE Archaeology Workshop for Educators to be held June 25-26

ALAMOGORDO, NM – June 18, 2013 – Teachers, youth group leaders, and home-school parents are invited to a Project Archaeology workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 25 and 26 at the Lincoln National Forest Supervisor’s Office in Alamogordo.  This workshop will give educators the resources to use the exciting field of archaeology to bring history, art, language, mathematics, social studies, and scientific inquiry into the classroom, while meeting Common Core State Standards, as well as The Next Generation Science Standards. Notes From the Bird House – Last One

To all our customers and to my High Country Post followers:
As of August 3, I will no longer be working at The Bird House. The time has come for some awesome changes in all three of our lives. Kazumi and Chris will still be here and ready to help you all.
