NM Rails-to-Trails October 20th Workday

NMRTA will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20th for our regular workday at Harris Hollow on Fresnal Canyon Road.  This is the entrance we used while building the first part of the Bridal Veil Falls Rail Trail.  We will be working right at the Falls.  We need extra volunteers this month, as we would like to dispatch another crew to the trestle closest to the new foot bridge over Crooked Creek.  There will be work for all skill levels.  We generally work until Noon.

Bring your own drinking water, work gloves, sun protection and sturdy footwear.  All tools will be furnished.

Directions to Harris Hollow (Briefly, it is about 1/2 mile further downhill from the Lower Grandview Trailhead where we’ve been meeting for the past year): From Hwy 82 in High Rolls, turn N at the High Rolls General Store onto Cherry Blossom Ln for 0.3 mi then W(left) at the stop sign onto Cottage Row.  Drive 0.45 mi and turn N (R)onto Fresnal Cyn Rd. The upper end of the Grand View Trail is on the left at .5 miles, and the lower trailhead is on the left at .9 mi.  Continue another 1/2 mile north to Harris Hollow, which is tucked away on a curve to the west.  Look for our parked cars.
