New Mexico’s Followers Light Up Pinterest

The New Mexico Tourism buy nexium capsules online Department’s Pinterest Pinboard ranked fifth in April among the most-followed tourism accounts (destination management accounts) on Pinterest.

For the uninitiated, Pinterest is a virtual Internet-based “pinboard,” which allows its members to organize and share their visual interests. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, organize their favorite recipes, plan their vacations, and, yes, share their love for New Mexico.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

The Tourism Department created its Pinterest pinboard in response to the January 2012 Wall Street Journal article entitled “WSJ – The ‘Land Enchantment’ Needs a Lift,” which talked about people’s misconceptions of New Mexico (“arid, barren and dull”). The Department has since used its pinboard to enhance promotional efforts, such as “Get the Picture;” to drive on–line traffic to the newly designed web site (www.newmexico.org); and to support the new advertising and marketing campaign, “New Mexico True.”
