Governor Urges Fire Prevention Steps Be Taken

ALBUQUERQUE – At a news conference held today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that she proclaimed March 25 – April 7, 2012, as Wildfire Awareness Weeks in New Mexico and urged residents and visitors to the state to be prepared for wildfires and do their part to prevent human-caused wildfires from starting.
“Unfortunately, conditions are in place for another difficult fire season,” said Governor Martinez. “I urge all New Mexicans to do their part to be safe and take steps to prevent fires whenever they can. Read the remainder of this entry »

The weather’s great, the streams are clear and the lakes are free of ice – just in time for this weekend’s unofficial opening of fishing season in New Mexico. NM Rails-to-Trails April 21st Workday

Next regular workday is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. Meet at the Lower Trailhead for Grand View Trail on Fresnal Canyon Rd. Bring your own drinking water, sun protection and sturdy footwear. All tools will be furnished. We are building trail from Bridal Veil Falls to Fresnal Canyon Road to complete the loop.
