SANTA FE, NM – New Mexico State Parks Division honors military veterans and current active duty military service members on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011, by waiving day-use and camping fees at all New Mexico state parks for veterans and active-duty military and their families.
“This is just a small token of appreciation the State of New Mexico can extend to those who have served our country, or are currently in military service,” stated John Bemis, Cabinet Secretary-Designate for New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, which oversees the New Mexico State Parks Division.
New Mexico has 35 diverse state parks to explore, including lakes, mountain forests, canyons, desert beauty, and fascinating historical sites—even dinosaur tracks!
