Oliver Lee State Park Open House

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. – Fall is in the air, the leaves are beginning to change color, the air is cooler, and it is the perfect time to visit Oliver Lee Memorial State Park. The park has a variety of program events coming up, including an Open House on October 8, 2011, where the day-use fee will be waived.

Free Firewood

FREE FIREWOOD
Saturday, October 1st
8:30am to 3:00PM
(weather permitting)

Only 20 permits will be issued! 10 permits for 8:30-12:00 and 10 permits for 12:00-3:00pm. First come, first served. The Free-use permits can be obtained at the Sacramento Ranger Station, Monday – Friday between 7:30am – 4:30pm.

Return of the “Stump”

Visitors and the Great Cloudcroft Community,
I wanted to update everyone on “The Return of the Stump” (as Mayor Dave Venable has put it).  We are progressing full speed ahead as you have probably noticed the last couple of weeks.  The fire was such a tragedy to our community and to those that lost businesses and their livelihoods.  It has left a giant hole in Burro Ave. that needs rebuilding.  Of course we, Green Mountain Construction, Inc., were so excited to be a part of the re-building process when Dave, Chuck and Tim Venable approached us for the project; who wouldn’t want to be a part of that!! October Slash Pit Schedule – Sacramento Ranger District

The Slash Pit will be opened:
Saturday, October 15
Hours of Operation:
8:30 a.m. – 1200 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

* Please note the slash pit can be closed during periods of inclement weather. Additionally, the pit may also be closed if the road is muddy or slash pit is full and needs to be pushed or burned.
