“The Western” Makes the Trail!

The votes have been tallied and Cloudcroft’s Western Bar & Cafe is one of the restaurants, cafes, drive-ins, and joints included on the 2011 New Mexico Tourism Department’s Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail. Restaurant owners, staff, and patrons were encouraged to vote for their favorites for inclusion on the Trail throughout the month of April 2011 and vote they did.

The response to the Tourism Department’s call for nominations was absolutely overwhelming. Nearly 200 restaurants were nominated by the people in their local communities. The winners were unveiled today (May 26, 2011) at a press conference at 5 Star Burgers in Albuquerque. All together 66 restaurants with more than 100 locations statewide are included on the trail.

“What could make for a better summer trip for family and friends http://premier-pharmacy.com/product/avodart/ than sampling New Mexico’s best burgers topped with New Mexico’s best chile?” asked Monique Jacobson, Secretary of the Tourism Department. “Today’s travelers frequently cite culinary attractions as a major reason to visit a destination. The Trail not only showcases the state’s unique food heritage, it also encourages all of us to enjoy our incredible state. I encourage everyone to make New Mexico the focus of their Memorial Day weekend travel plans.”

We always eat at the Western Bar and Grill. Started eating there back when it was Rays Western Bar. Or I think it used to be Rays…  We have never walked away with disappointment from eating at the Western. We walk away stuffed, but never disappointed from the great food!  2 Thumbs up and 5 stars for the Western Bar and Grill!
