White Fire Update – April 9, 2011

WHITE FIRE NEWS RELEASE – April 9, 2011 8:00 PM
High winds continue to create smoke from hot spots within the fire perimeter.  Crews spent the day monitoring and addressing hot spots, and chipping brush along Forest Road 120.

The Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team initiated a field assessment today to determine natural resource damage, potential problems and mitigation.  Falling trees were reported in the burned area as the result of fire damage and gusty winds.  Incident Commander Mark South urges the public to stay out of the burned area to avoid hazards.

Residents are also reminded to comply with Stage II Fire Restrictions implemented earlier this week by the Lincoln National Forest.
