Ruidoso to Host 2nd Annual Wildland Urban Interface Summit

Santa Fe, NM — “Fire is at Your Back Door? Are You Ready?” is the theme of the 2nd annual Wildland Urban Interface Summit, which will be held in Ruidoso, NM, on March 23 – 24, 2011. The event is being sponsored by the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, New Mexico State Forestry, New Mexico State Land Office and New Mexico Association of Counties.

“The Summit will provide an opportunity for New Mexico’s community members, fire specialists , and local government leaders to discuss state-wide efforts to reduce the risk of wildfire,” said Paul nexium online sampling Gutierrez, Executive Director with the NM Association of Counties, “workshop sessions will include topics designed for Community Involvement, Incident Response and Local Leadership,” Gutierrez added.

The two-day event will be held at the Ruidoso Convention Center, with on-site registration available from 7:00- 8:30 am on Wednesday, March 23rd; the registration fee is $75.00. The Summit will begin at 8:30 am on Wednesday and is scheduled to end at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 24th.
